Other Cookies: A Baker's Perspective

While searching the very wide Internet for similar blogs, I found many good ones. Some of those blogs are totally concerned with kid education while some have a variety of topics including marriage life and cross-cultural issues. In the following list I introduce five different blogs that, I think, are older sisters of this blog:

1. American Muslim Mom:

American Muslim Mom is a multi-section blog. Its sections include Family, Homeschool-Channel, and Entertainment. It is very active and attractive. Its mission is "to enlighten, educate, and empower American Muslim Moms living in America and abroad, to take action in their lives". This blog sometimes brings some external experts' articles.

"GrowMamaGrow is an online community of American Muslim mothers and young women". It provides its audience with interesting tips and hints on how to deal with children and husbands. In addition, it
has a special monthly series called " GrowMama Picks", in which the author shares some interesting links with the audience.

Different cultures in different places.

InCultureParent is a special blog of its kind. "Centered around culture, tradition and language, we feature articles on parenting around the world and raising multicultural and multilingual (also bicultural and bilingual) children" the author states. This is very beneficial for parents who are used to living in more than one country.

Chicago Muslim Parent is a personal blog that offers "parenting tips, ideas, resources, reviews and more from a Muslim perspective". It discusses important issues related to Muslim children and parents from the author's point of view. The author also shares some selected books and links with her audience.

I really like all of these blogs. I will keep visiting them regularly and I may use them as references for some of my future entries.

Now, it is your turn my audience. Do you like them all? What blog do you like best and Why?

  1. Dear Cookie Baker! I am so happy to be introduced to these different blogs concerned with parenting, and especially with parenting from a Muslim perspective (or in the case of one blog parenting in different cultures). Probably my favorite blog is the one you posted last. Why? Because it seems so real and authentic with less professionalism than the others. That being said the others are awesome for the information that they provide.

Did you place them in any particular order? Why did you present the blogs in the order that you did? Just curious!

Oh! I have another question! Did you find any Muslim fathers blogging about parenting? Or only women?

  2. Hi Hallelujah Truth!

I agree with you that non-professionalism sometimes makes things better!

With respect to the order, I tried to place them according to their activity and relevance.

Unfortunately (and fortunately :) ) I couldn't find any Muslim father blog. So, my blog may open up this door for others.

Thanks Hallelujah Truth for your interest!
